Well trying vegetarian to prevent my IBS only lasted a week before all my symptoms were back with a vengeance. I am at my wit’s end and starting to become paranoid. I am also suffering from a continual sore throat (going on 6 months now) and Google is not helping if I believe Google then my sore throat is due to a chicken allergy or much worse. I am seeing a Dr for a sore throat now and the meds are working a little bit, and only time will tell. With regards to the IBS, I am going to seek the help of a dietician so I can work with her to find out my trigger food/s. Hopefully, this will help.
Living with IBS continued
I have been to see a dietician, and my eating plan is vastly different than what I was previously given. Previously I was told to avoid so many things (Seeds; Wheat; Lactose; Green vegetables (Cabbage, lettuce, peas, green peppers, cucumber, spinach), Beans, Spicy Food, Sauces, Garlic, Onion,, Fruit with pips and skin on, Watermelon, Coffee, Coconut, Muesli, Chocolate, Oily Food, Peanut butter, processed items like biscuits, cakes etc), and this was just to name a few!!!! This obviously left me eating meat potatoes and orange veg. Needless to say, that did not help my weight, and I gained kg after kg.
Well my new dietician has a new approach and I am to eat healthily, and due to me having erosive gastritis in the stomach, I am to have 3 small meals a day and 3 small snacks. This is to avoid me having an empty stomach and the stomach juices becoming too acidic. At this stage, I do not have to cut out much except reduce sugar and caffeine. Try and eat veg with every meal, and keep a note of how I feel after every meal.
I am keen to approach this healthy eating and see what the future holds. This is going to be hard, I am not a big eater and am not sure how I will manage 3 meals plus snacks a day. I think I will be able to give up the bad foods, and the chocolate and crisps, the hard thing for me will be the coffee…..
